Vidya is a social drama show that is aired on Colors TV and produced by Mahesh Pandey. This show is based on social issues and about the importance of education, and this creates a positive impact on the audience. It is about the unique and exciting journey of an uneducated English teacher, Vidya. In her childhood, her father was not able to afford books for her and her brother, so she remains uneducated. Later she got married to a soldier and after her marriage, her husband was called on duty, and he returned in a coffin. Vidya's greedy in-laws misuse her 50 lacs as compensation she got from the government, and they arranged a false certificate of education for her which landed her into a government job. She got an English teaching job in a school, and her bad luck starts from here. There is a local politician named Avatar, and he threatens Vidya if she rejects the offer he ends her family. A village headman named Nanku Singh creates problems for Vidya by assigning her multiple tasks and deadlines to complete them. The principal of the school found out about her lack of education in the very first meeting with her. Vidya will overcome all the difficult situations in her life by taking a bold stand for herself. Then in the serial, they show how bad the village education system is like there is no proper arrangement of toilets for students, they are forced to go in the fields and many more things.
